뚱보 통고기 - Pork Neck Korean BBQ

Location: 중무로 Jungmuro

Hahaha, this blog post is still about my last weekend ~ I did so many things, and the next blog post will also be about an Adventure I had during the same period of time O_o

Anyways, strap in, have your bibs ready and raise your forks! This one will make you droool :D

Yum yum, nom nom nom ~

How to Get There
Okay, I was led to this place in Jungmuro.
It's a 2 minute walk from the Kukdong Bldg(극동빌딩) and a 5 minute walk from Jungmuro station exit number 5. In relation to Sinchon, it's about 6-7 stations away and a station away from Myong-dong. Pretty detailed ey? I'm impressed too :D

THAT's because this is a place that we have to REMEMBER!

THE NAME of the PLACE: Ddung Bo
If I'm not mistaken, it's been open since 1981 so they know what they are doing!
It's also pretty famous, I think you can find it on the internet. Whether or not it is in Korean that's another matter :P

Pigging it out :d

So, What is it?

Well, it's basically your extraordinaly fresh, succulent and tender chunks of good ol' Pork, but it's the part of the neck which is why it is extra extraaaaaa tender and extra extraaaaa..... JUICY.

Damn it! They should have an emoticon or something to express this level of juiciness. :D

How to Eat it :P

I think the best way to enjoy this wonderful and traditional dish is to dip it in the mixture of Wasabi, soy sauce, and spring onion after skimming it with the salt/pepper (seen on the small plate above the porridge). I know, Wasabi right? The thing is, the Wasabi is not strong at all! Especially, when you have mixed it thoroughly with the sauce. And the hint of spice is just PERFECT ~~~~  slurp* :D

Last but not least, those who enjoy the taste of a fresh, crisp and cold beer will not want to miss the chance to wash down this baby with a few bottles fresh from the fridge :D
It's even better after a long summer day =]

Enjoy with friends and family :D

Regards,

Ray K
